The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama, has expressed his willingness to construct a bridge over River Oti if voted back to power in 2020.
According to a feasibility study done prior to the 2016 elections, Mahama said his government could have constructed the bridge but lost power and so could not execute the project.
During his tour of some districts and municipalities in the region, the former president added that the construction of the bridge would facilitate transportation in the Oti Region.

In other news, former president John Dramani Mahama has expressed confidence in returning to the Presidency, insisting he wants to “fix the mess” created by the Akufo-Addo government.
According to him, all the that governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has done is to plunge the country into hardship.
Mahama was speaking to some supporters of the opposition NDC when he visited the Oti region on Monday, September 2, 2019
