A Nigerian lady has gone on a one-man peaceful protest against xenophobic attacks. The lady identified as Meg Ricketts shared a video of herself on social media protesting against the killing of Nigerians in South Africans.
The lady, who shared her video on Twitter, stormed a South African mall located in Surulere, Lagos state.
In her tweet, Ricketts explained that she took on a one-man protest at the mall. In the video, she was spotted holding a placard where she illustrated her concerns about the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
Ricketts, in the video, was heard calling out to the staff at the mall, asking them to talk to their people in South Africa. She asked them what the Nigerians being killed did to deserve what they did to them.
The lady also told the staff to stop pretending like they do not know what is going on in South Africa.
Meanwhile, on October 29, 1885, Clara Belle Williams, who is on record as the first African American graduate of the New Mexico State University (NMSU), was born.
She graduated as a valedictorian in 1905 after pursuing education on scholarship at the Prairie View Normal and Independent College.
Facebook.com reports that during her time at the NMSU, several of her professors prevented her from entering the classroom and she therefore had to take notes from the hallway.
