Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has revealed that government is working towards providing every hospital across the country with a medical herbalist.
This according to the health minister, is a move to supplement and improve healthcare delivery across the country.
Agyeman-Manu said the ministry was striving to develop traditional medicines to the levels of countries like China, which was not attainable without the incorporation of science and research into traditional medicine.
The minister said Ghana was a growing market for traditional medicine with the Traditional Medicine Practice Council receiving a number of licensing applications on daily basis.
“This year alone there has been more than 800 application received, this obviously has a positive economic implications on the nation’s development.”
In other news, the Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for Yendi, Alhaji Hammed Abubakari Yussif has stated that, a US national seeking to establish a factory in his Municipality does not look like someone who can walk his talk.
According to Alhaji Yussif, he does not sound convincing enough because he does not own a car of his own.
The MCE said anytime the man visited his area on issues related to the establishment the factory, he never showed up his own car but rather showed up in a rented tricycle popularly reffered to as 'pragya'.
