Ghana Card: NIA to begin mass registration of foreigners nationals

- NIA has announced that it would begin a mass registration of foreign nationals currently residing in Ghana

- The exercise is targeted at getting the right documentation and issuing all foreign nationals with the “compulsory” non-citizen Ghana card

- The NIA further cautioned foreign nationals not to attempt to register as Ghanaians during the ongoing national registration exercise

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that it would begin a mass registration of foreign nationals currently residing in Ghana.

The registration has been scheduled to take place from Monday, September 9 – Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Accra International Conference Centre from 8am to 4pm each day.

The registration exercise is targeted at getting the right documentation and issuing all foreign nationals with the “compulsory” non-citizen Ghana card.

A statement from the NIA said foreigners without a non-citizen Ghana card would be cited for breach of the law and would be refused access to essential services in Ghana.

The NIA further cautioned foreign nationals not to attempt to register as Ghanaians during the ongoing national registration exercise.

The identification authority however brought our certain directives to ensure that all foreign nationals are duely registered in line with the laid down laws.

In other news, Member of Parliament for Gomoa East Constituency, Kojo Asemanyi has been up in trends over a viral video capturing him doing sexually suggestive dance moves with two women.

As part of the Ahobaakese festival celebrated by the chiefs and people of Gomoa Fetteh, the MP joined in the Atopa dance known to them as Akosualontoba to be filled with the spirit of the festival.

He was seen seen in a video showcasing his expertise in the dance which was captured by some media persons at the event and has thus been given different interpretations.
