In the past, a wedding was seen as an occasion to unite two lovers. But now, weddings are seen as competitions, looking at the kind of money that goes into it.

There are weddings organized on a low key and it all depends on the people initiating it.

People these days are contemplating just signing in court and doing a small reception for family members.

Others want to go to church and bless it with no reception afterwards, as most believe that’s where the money drain is.

But to certain people, they want their reception to dominate the headlines as they would not mind breaking the bank to organize a gargantuan reception.

YEN.com.gh has sighted a Ghanaian wedding reception list photo which has gone viral.

In the list a charge of 15% is included as workmanship for the planner with an indoor venue costing GHC 12000 and transportation, GHC 1000.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian couple recently became the topic of discussion across several social media platforms after a photo of their wedding invitation surfaced on the internet.

It is a common tradition for wedding ceremonies in this part of the world to often start off from a religious setting to a more relaxed environment where guests would be lavishly treated to food, drinks and music.

However, for a Nigerian man identified as Adewale Yussuf and his bride Blessing Ijeoma, the case was completely different from what many of their friends may have been looking forward to.

The couple boldly pointed out that there would be no reception for their matrimonial ceremony after the church activities have been concluded.
