A former presidential staffer during the John Mahama administration, Stan Dogbe, has been subjected to a barrage of attacks by social media users.
This comes after he posted a message on Facebook, a social media platform, with respect to a video that has since gone viral.
In the video, President Akufo-Addo appeared to snub former president Mahama, and it attracted reactions from a cross-section of Ghanaians.
According to Dogbe, the fact that President Akufo-Addo and Mahama are political opponents should not prevent one from respecting and being polite to the other.
He added that President’s Akufo-Addo’s conduct is a disgrace to the country because he is the leader of the republic.
Dogbe went on to say that the president’s body language was obvious for all to see and the video has brought embarrassment to the country.
Social media users however disagreed with him and shared their opinions online:
Ofori-Mensah wondered what Mahama expected as he had a heavy face.
Yeboah wondered why Dogbe was speaking about disgrace.
Awuku hoped Dogbe was not being his usual mischievous self.
Yiadom also noted that Mahama looked angry as he waited to greet the president.
In other news, while many Ghanaians have described President Akufo-Addo's gesture and body expression as ''undiplomatic'' and ''petty'', some have found humour in the situation and have started a ‘presidential handshake challenge’.
Videos of the challenge are already trending after some social media users shared them on Facebook.
