- Paul Pogba almost secured a summer transfer move to Paris-Saint-Germain
- But Neymar's failed move to Spanish champions Barcelona blocked the transfer
- The France international had agreed £429,000-a-week deal with PSG in the summer transfer day deadline but the deal collapsed
Paul Pogba who plays for Premier League side Manchester United reportedly agreed £429,000-a-week transfer deal with Paris-Saint-Germain before deadline day.
According to the report on Daily Mail, citing Calciomercato, the move failed to work because of Paris-Saint-Germain's inability to sell Brazilian star Neymar.
Pogba was reported to be a target for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris-Saint-Germain and even his former club Juventus during the summer transfer.
Italian outlet Calciomercato claimed that Manchester United agreed deal to sell Paul Pogba to Paris-Saint-Germain, but Barcelona's failed move for Neymar blocked the transfer.
Neymar was said to be ready to make a return to the Nou Camp, but Barcelona couldn't meet PSG's valuation of him before the window closed.
And as a result of that, France international Paul Pogba missed out on the £22 million a year deal which was put on the table for him at PSG.
Meanwhile, the deal can still be done when the January transfer window opens if the clubs involved can agree on good terms.
Earlier, YEN.com.gh had reported Man United are ready to break the bank to keep their star man Paul Pogba by offering him a bumper new deal.
The France international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and the Frenchman did little to confirm his exit from Old Trafford this summer.
