The former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as Obour, has declared his intentions to delve into politics.
A few weeks after leaving office as the MUSIGA president, he launched his political career.
According to reports, he would be contesting in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Asante Akyem South Constituency.
Obour started his campaign toward this bid after he officially handed over power to an Interim Management Committee of MUSIGA led by Bessa Simons on August 30, 2019.
He recently joined a cleanup exercise in the Asante Akyem South constituency in the Ashanti region and donated dustbins, wheelbarrow, washing powder and long brooms to the assembly.
The NPP will hold parliamentary elections in orphan constituencies across the country on September 28, 2019.
In other news, Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed his eagerness to see former president John Dramani Mahama converting to Islam.
According to Daily Guide reports, the vice-president's invitation came after Mahama said an Islamic prayer during the Islamic funeral of the National Chief Imam’s sister at New Fadama.
During the ceremony, when it was the turn of former president Mahama to say a few remarks,he rendered what all Muslims were enjoined to say when the death of a faithful is announced. Innaa Lillahi Wainna Illahi Raajiun, to wit in classic Arabic ‘To God shall we all return.’
