YEN.com.gh has gathered that another tragic accident has occurred on the Techiman-Kintampo Highway.
The accident has claimed eight lives so far with others in bad injuries.
This happened when a truck and taxi collided on the highway.
The driver of a Mercedez Benz truck with the registration number AS 9554 G, was said to have lost control and the truck was at the verge of falling on the opposite side.
The innocent taxi driver and his four passengers were said to have crashed into the falling truck, resulting in the deaths.
The taxi was said to be driven by one Kwame Mensah, 26, with the registration number BA 1356 P.
Narrating how the accident occurred, ASP Andrews Okonengye, the Bono East MTTD Regional Commander said;
“When he got to Tuobodom, the driver lost control of the vehicle and just on the verge of falling, a taxi cab coming from the opposite direction driven by Kwame Mensah, 26, with four other people on board crashed into it.
“The impact was so great such that the cargo truck turned around to face the opposite direction,” he added.
Six persons reportedly died at the scene while two others died later at the hospital after being taken there by officers of the Ghana National Fire Service.
The deceased persons were two females and six males.
7 bodies have been identified by the police with the exception of one.
This is not the first time such a death has occurred on the stretch of Highway.
The late singer Ebony Reigns died there in an accident as well.
There was another accident that killed and burnt many people.
