Kwame Nkrumah’s powerful statement on night before independence pops up

- He stated that he is focused on helping to build a continent that would be interested in its achievements

- Dr. Nkrumah added that Ghana needed to help other African countries achieve independence

YEN.com.gh is in possession of a statement attributed to Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah which was given on the night before independence.

Portions of the message revealed his determination to create a unique continent that would be proud of its achievements.

He added that there was a need for the country to rededicate itself to the struggle to free other African countries from colonialism.

He went on to say Ghana’s independence would lose its meaning unless it is linked with the total freedom of Africa.
