Cristiano Ronaldo got fans angry after making a hand gesture during Atletico Madrid's 2-2 draw with Juventus.

The Portuguese superstar had a chance to score a late winner but his brilliant effort went just wide and Ronaldo displayed what looked like a mocking gesture towards the fans.

Ronaldo was in the middle of a controversial gesture that made at fans at the Wanda Metropolitano furious last season and is no stranger to a hostile reception.

The Serie A champions had gone up 2-0 through Juan Cuadrado and Blaise Matuidi but Diego Simeon's men rallied back with goals from Stefan Savic and Hector Moreno to end the match 2-2.

Ronaldo was quite missing in the match until his last gasp effort that almost resulted into what could have been the winning goal for Juventus.

And it was after that miss Ronaldo made the hand gesture that provoked the Atleti supporters.

But in a post-match interview, the 34-year-old cleared the air about what he meant with what the fans interpreted as offensive.

He said the gesture simply meant, "learn, you have to learn".
