- A Ghanaian police officer, Lance Corporal Kennedy Twumasi has recounted a sad ordeal about how he was set up by a friend
- Following the frame up, Twumasi was charged with possession of a narcotic substance after police found weed in his house during a search
- The 45-year-old officer was remanded for two years at the Sunyani Central Prison and consequently given a ten-year prison sentence
Following his dismissal from the Ghana Police Service, Lance Corporal Kennedy Twumasi, has made a passionate plea to the police administration to reinstate him into the service to ensure that justice is served.
The 45-year-old man recounted amid tears, in a video, how he became a victim of a setup allegedly masterminded by his close friend, Sarpong, who threatened to deal with him [Kennedy] following an accusation that Kennedy cause his arrest which resulted in the collapse of his weed business at Tain in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Lance Corporal Kennedy Twumasi disclosed in an interview that his friend ‘promised to show him where power lies’ after accusing him of causing his arrest.
He told Crime Check amid tears that: "I was in my room when some policemen entered claiming my boss Robert Ayalingo has asked them to conduct a search. I didn't understand why my boss will call for such a search, so I initially thought it was a joke,'' his post said.
Kennedy continued: ''When I thought the search was over, one of the policemen suddenly brought out a small parcel in a polythene bag behind my fridge and accused me of keeping weed in my house. I was shocked to the marrow," he said.
Lance Corporal Kennedy Twumasi reveals that he felt like killing himself.
Twumasi said he was eventually arrested and charged with possession of a narcotic substance suspected to be 'wee'.
