Mugabe memorial: Rawlings praises top South African politician at Mugabe funeral

- Julius Malema opened up about xenophobia during a memorial for Robert Mugabe

- The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader's views left many divided

- However, Juju won over a prominent African figure, former Ghana president Jerry John Rawlings

Last week, Julius Malema gave Robert Mugabe a proper EFF send-off. The Economic Freedom Fighters' leader talked about Mugabe's legacy and he touched on issues in South Africa and Africa.

Speaking at the service, Malema praised Zimbabwe for obtaining freedom without the 'sunset clauses' South Africa had needed to negotiate the birth of democracy in the nation.

It appears Juju impressed Jerry John Rawlings - the former Ghanian head of state.

His post read:

"Congratulations and thank you @Julius_S_Malema. Your address at the EFF Mugabe funeral and your press conference on the scourge of xenophobia were impressive and to the point."

Touching on xenophobia in South Africa, which had been in the spotlight last weeks after the death of a taxi driver sparked uprisings in Gauteng, Malema blasted those who targeted foreigners:

"You call them foreigners, what is the definition of a foreigner? Someone who comes into your country without papers and doesn't have anything to show. That includes you, you are foreigners because you have nothing to show."

Rawlings went on to praise the EFF leader for making "many proud".

Social media users agreed with Rawlings about Malema's statements about the issue plaguing South Africa.

Meanwhile, a young Ghanaian creative identified on social media as Nana Made-In-China, won the internet after he recreated the outfit of 'red carpet goddess', Nana Akua Addo.

For what Nigerians and perhaps the world have come to accept and love about the ‘bizarre’ but funny recreations of celebrity looks by comedy impersonator, Funny Toheeb, Ghanaians already have a young creative, model and actor with his own unique sense of humour.
