A black 29-year-old woman, Sherrexcia “Rexy” Rolle has taken a major role in the aviation industry as she runs one of the most-successful black-owned airlines in the world called Western Air Limited.

Though the airline is owned by her parents, she handles the daily management of the company as the airliner expands its operations and fleet, Essence reports.

The company is currently worth over $90 million as it was reported that the company growth has continued to enjoy speedy growth.

In an interview with Essence magazine, she said that the company was started in 2001 by her parents, adding that she was involved at its inception even though she was very young.

She said that the company was created based on her parents’ background in aviation and international business.

She added that she hopes to be multi-dimensional even as she wants to achieve success in everything she does.

Rolle also added that there are not many people like her in the industry which has sparked some kind of curiosity whenever she attends conferences.

In advising young women, she said that they should take advantage of whatever opportunities that are presented to them.

“I hope the lesson that they take from me is that you have to take advantage of any and all opportunities that may be presented to you.

“When I was younger I didn’t fully understand everything that my parents were sacrificing to do in terms of what their bigger vision was,” he said.

Though the company offers flight service within major airports within the Bahamas, she said they hope to expand the service.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Kofo Akinkugbe is the owner of the first sim production plant in Nigeria called SecureID Nigeria Ltd, a company which focuses smart card technology and digital security.

Her company now reportedly exports to 21 other countries and has the certification of credible companies like VISA, Verve, and Master Card.
