Brilliant Ghanaian student places 2nd in the world in ACCA’s flagship exams

- A brilliant Ghanaian student has placed second worldwide in a global professional exams

- Owen Odonkor Adamtey, took part in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant’s (ACCA) flagship professional papers

- He thrashed over 10,000 students to clinch second place

Owen Odonkor Adantey, a Ghanaian and final year student of the University of Ghana has placed second globally in one of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountant’s (ACCA) main professional level exams.

More than 10,000 students from different countries contested in ACCA’s flagship professional level papers, The Strategic Business Leader (SBL).

Owen Odonkor Adantey, thrashed over 10,000 students to clinch second place in the global world competition in the June 2019 exams.

The Ghanaian student’s achievement was announced during a recently held ACCA Annual Student’s Summit and Employability Fair, which came off at the Accra International Conference Centre.

ACCA’s Strategic Business Leader (SBL), is a four-hour case study that reflects the workplace and provides trainees with real-world challenges and allows them to demonstrate a blend of technical, practical and professional skills.

Owen Odonkor Adantey, ), who expressed excitement after he received the award, said he was stunned by the announcement while stating that it was one of the best experiences of his life.

''I didn’t expect to do well. It’s simply one of the greatest in my life.''

Before he received the award, Owen had also collected the award for the Top Performer in Ghana for Strategic Business Reporting in March 2019 exams as well as Financial Management in the March 2018 exams sitting.

The 2019 ACCA Annual Student’s Summit and Employability Fair was the 6th edition, themed ''ACCA, Shaping Your Futur'', with focus on partnerships, connections for success and digital skills needed by Finance and Accounting trainees and students to help them keep-up with changing trends in business in general and in the qualification in particular.

Other 52 ACCA trainees were also awarded for impressive performances in the past four ACCA Exams sittings.

Meanwhile, a video has emerged online alleged to be Malawian President Peter Mutharika, travelling to Lilongwe, the capital city of the country with a fleet of cars following him.

The video shows a long number of cars alleged to be the convoy of President Peter Mutharika, on their way to Lilongwe.

Social media user, Masiwa Maison Snr Table, shared the video on his personal Facebook platform.
