Amidu, also known as ‘Citizen Vigilante’, went on to say that some reasons often compelled him to release statements concerning the state of his office to the media.

The rationale for such a move, he explained, was because it is necessary for Ghanaians to lower expectations with respect to the prosecution of people accused of corrupt practices.
Per a report by adomonline.com, Amidu noted that two of the reasons for the slow pace of prosecutions initiated by his office was because his office is under-resourced and some government officials refuse to collaborate with him.
He added that it becomes a challenge to deliver on his mandate if there is friction between his office and heads of some government institutions.
