Spending time with family is certainly of paramount importance and a great-great-grandmother, Annie Berry, who celebrated her birthday in 2019 was left awed when all five generations of her family visited her in Maryland.

Annie Berry welcomed the latest addition to her family, Olivia, her great-great-granddaughter at a family meeting.

The 105-year-old woman was born in Meridian, Mississippi, in 1914, during a time in history when racism and segregation were still dominant in the US.

Berry, recounts picking cotton and shucking corn during her early days and lived long to witness major life events including World War II.

And of course, Olivia’s life in a 21st-century world would be totally different from her great-great-grandmother’s.

Berry attributes her long life to the ‘obedience to the Lord’ while she sets out a clear line of instructions for baby Olivia.

''I’d like her to be kind and loving and do what her mother tells her to do.'' Berry says.

Meanwhile, a midwife has received remarkable accolades after she helped deliver a new baby born to a diabetic mother despite having access to inadequate medical equipment.

Emmanuel Addipa-Adapoe, a doctor who shared photos along with a caption on Facebook, disclosed that the mother of the newborn baby ''absconded'' from the Kwahu Atibie Government Hospital (KGH) in the Eastern Region because she couldn't afford to pay her medical bills.
