- AC Millan are reportedly running out of patience with current manager Marco Giampaolo
- Under Giampaolo, the Rossonerri have had their worst start to a Serie A season in decades
- Former Arsenal boss Wenger is reportedly a strong favorite to take over at the San Siro
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may well be on his way back to football management.
Wenger, who has been out of work since leaving the Emirates in May 2018 has been strongly linked with fallen Italian giants AC Millan.
Current Millan boss Marco Giampaolo is a man under pressure after subjecting the Rossoneri to their worst starts in Serie A in recent times.
Their latest defeat - a 3-1 loss to Fiorentina at the San Siro, meant they have lost four of their opening six games for the first time since the 1930s.
The Sun reports that following the defeat, the club’sanagement retained Giampaolo at the stadium for an extra two hours for a crisis meeting.
Italian outlet Gazzetta now report that Wenger is already being lined up to replace the current Millan boss, who has fallen out of favor with his bosses.
Wenger’s chances of managing at Italy were further boosted by the presence of Ivan Gazidis who is Milan’s Chief Executive.
Gazidis has previously worked with Wenger at Arsenal.
Former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and ex-Inter boss Luciano Spalletti are also being considered for the AC Millan job.
