Facebook group #ImStaying has been a light during dark times in SA. South Africans have taken to the page to share inspiring stories on why they choose to stay in the country.
One lady, Marié Coetzee, penned an emotional letter to her former domestic worker, who she simply identified as Sindiswa.
Coetzee revealed Sindiswa was part of her family for 14 years and she helped raise her children. Briefly.co.za learned Sindiswa shared the family's pain when Coetzee's father fought cancer.
"Through all of this I had the privilege in sharing in the upbringing of Yonela. She was the daughter I never had since her and my Logan were only 6 months old" - Coetzee added in the post.
Coetzee revealed Sindiswa has achieved her dreams, going from domestic worker to pharmacist's assistant.

The full post read:
"My dearest Sindiswa.
"14 years in anyone's book is a long time and that is how long you have been like family to me. You have helped me raise 2 beautiful boys. You added value to our lives and your strong Christian values made a huge impact on us. I remember you holding my dad's hand, praying for him first thing every morning while he was fighting cancer. Through all of this I had the privilege in sharing in the upbringing of Yonela. She was the daughter I never had since her and my Logan was only 6 months old.
"The day you said you are leaving, my heart broke into a thousand pieces and I then realised why I have been calling you my Angel for so many years, because you were just that, an Angel and Blessing to our family.
"Today, you are standing tall, from a domestic worker to a Pharmacist Assistant. I am so incredibly proud of you and all you have achieved. You showed me how to follow a dream, being incredibly brave and is just such an inspiration to me and many others.
"Keep doing what you are doing and let your success light shine bright. I will always be there to help, encourage and support you.
"PS: Can't wait for our next coffee date (and cake of course) because you will always be part of my family."
