Black Panther star Lupita Nyongo's first book inspires girls to appreciate dark skin

Hollywood based Kenyan born actress Lupita Nyong'o has authored a book aimed at inspiring girls of colour, adding another feather to her cap.

The ravishing thespian named her first ever publication, Sulwe, which is a Luo word for star.

Sharing with the world about her latest endeavor through her Instagram account, the lass revealed she authored the book to encourage self-love for darker-skinned girls across the world.

''Sulwe holds up a mirror for dark-skinned children especially, to see themselves reflected immediately, and it is a window for all the others to cherish peering into.'' she wrote.

Sulwe is a children's picture book which aims at sending a powerful message to girls of colour.

Lupita's yet to be released book talks about the heartwarming and whimsical story of a young girl named Sulwe who goes on a journey to discover her own unique beauty.

According to the actress, even at a young age, girls are taught that light skin is preferred over dark skin and it is because of this that she came up with Sulwe to help encourage self-love for darker-skinned girls everywhere.

According to information seen on her different social media pages, the 48-page book will be released on Tuesday, October 15.

Meanwhile, despite completing the 2019 West African Examination Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with a near distinction, Sackey Abednego, a former student of Kade Senior High/Technical, faces a real challenge of not being able to further his education.

Sackey Abednego graduated high school with remarkable scores of 7As and B3. The former science student chalked all As in Elective and Core Mathematics, Integrated Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Social Studies and a B3 in English Language.
