As earlier reported by YEN.com.gh, Sarkodie won the award for the newly created Best International Flow category.
He triumphed over Nigeria's Falz the Bad Guy; Ghetts from the United Kingdom; Kalash from France; female rapper Little Simz from the UK; South Africa's Nasty C; Tory Lanez of Canada to win.
There has been an outpour of congratulations for Sarkodie since the news of his win at the awards which held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Georgia, United States, on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
One of the most important congratulatory messages for Sarkodie came from his mother, Emma Maame Aggrey.
It turns out that Mama Sark, as fans prefer to call her, stayed late into the night in order to wish Sarkodie well.
In a post on Twitter, Sarkodie has shared the congratulatory message from his mother which's timestamp shows it was sent somewhere around 02:41AM.
"I was calling to tell you that you're going to win. Congratulations, my son. Super happy and proud of you," Mama Sark's message read.
From the message, it is obvious that Mama Sark had stayed awake to monitor what was going on at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
This is just heartwarming!
Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh has reported how Nana Aba Anamoah, one of Sarkodie's biggest fans, reacted to the rapper's latest BET win on social media.
Earlier, Sarkodie's wife, Tracy Sarkcess, had also taken to social media to heap praise on her husband for winning the award.
