Ghana’s president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has outdoored the latest medical drone delivery service base at Asante Mampong in the Ashanti region.
This was during his duty tour of the region and the base becomes the second of four medical drone delivery bases that have been commissioned.
YEN.com.gh understands that the commissioning of the bases provides expanded access to important and life-saving drugs to people all over the country.
Information available suggests that Zipline, a California-based robotics company, operates the medical drone delivery service.
Per a report by graphic.com.gh, this is being done with support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the UPS Foundation, and other partners.
In other news, a former basketball player, Al Harrington, has opened up about the reason he decided to start a business, Harrington Wellness, in February 2018.
YEN.com.gh understands that he has also disclosed there are plans for expansion into areas such as Colorado, Oregon, California, and Michigan.
According to him, the company is currently working on applications in Illinois, Missouri, Maryland, and New Jersey, as there is a strategy to expand nationally.
Harrington went on to say that two major challenges his company faces are access to capital as well as lack of education to identify and utilize opportunities.
