Pupils of St. Michael's Senior High School (SHS) at Akoase-Nkawkaw in the Eastern region have been videoed studying under trees with no building block.

The students of the senior high school have been compelled to learn under trees for some years now due to inadequate classrooms for the students.

Teachers and students have no choice but to curtail studies anytime it rains or worse, close and go home to ensure their safety

The situation at the St. Michael’s Senior High School still threatens learning and academic excellence and requires immediate attention.

Teachers at the school also do not have access to dignified accommodation, bathing and toilet facilities.

A 12-unit classroom block that began in 2008 by former President John Agyekum Kufuor has been left to deteriorate and over 200 bags of cement meant for the project have also been left to waste at the site.
