While many people with darker skin tones tend to be victims of colourism, social media users are gushing over the beautiful dark skin tone of a toddler whose photos were shared online.
The little girl, whose identity was not disclosed along with the photos has earned a special place in the hearts of many for her stunning complexion.
More importantly, her photos have stirred conversations around colourism and bleaching.
Mahme Ahdjoa Essawah, posted the photos in a Facebook group with a caption which read: ''She's beautiful. and unique. Let's say no to bleaching which is now referred to as ''toning''. Black is bold and beautiful.''
Colourism is the discrimination against people who have darker skin tone or the preferential treatment of those who are of the same race but lighter-skinned.
And often, people of the same race who discriminate against others with darker complexion are ignorant they are subscribing to narrow Eurocentric notions of beauty.
However, the photos of the young girl generated impressive remarks after it surfaced online.
