Meet Victor Pul first Ghanaian to fly first commercial flight to new Wa Airport

- A Ghanaian pilot resident in Wa made history today [Tuesday], October 15, 2019, as the first person to fly the first commercial flight to Wa airport

- Victor Pul, who became the First Officer of Embraer 145 for Africa Airlines touched down in Wa at 11:30am

Victor Pul, a resident of Wa in the Upper West Region became the first Ghanaian to pilot the first scheduled commercial flight to the new Wa airport today [Tuesday], October 15, 2019.

The old student of San Francis Xavier Minor Seminary Secondary School made history as he piloted the first scheduled commercial flight which touched down in Wa at 11:30am

Pul, the First Officer of Embraer 145 for Africa World Airlines noted while growing up in the north sthere were little opportunities for kids to be exposed to the aviation industry.

''My greatest hope is that more steps are taken towards demystifying the aviation industry to kids up north,'' Pul said.

The native of Nandom reveals his interest in navigating plans in the skies began when he was 10 year old and a cousin introduced him to a flight simulator video games.

Victor Pul was pivotal in establishing the Pegasus Aviation Academy in the Northern Region as part of his efforts to urge the youth to pursue careers in aviation.

Africa World Airlinesalso made history as the first airline to start operation on the Wa route and scheduled to fly to Wa three times a week from Accra (Kotoka International Airport) through Tamale.

The Wa Airport was recently christened the identifier code ''WZA'' by International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Meanwhile, Mxolisi Mgolozeli, 54, has impressed many South Africans after it recently emerged he holds a master’s degree in Political Science and now has his eyes set on obtaining a Ph.D. from the University of South Africa (UNSA).

Mgolozeli, who is from the Democratic Republic of Congo and currently works as a security guard in South Africa left natives shocked when news of his achievements made headlines in the country.
