GHOne TV newscaster Serwaa Amihere has reportedly rejected an apology from Kofi Kapito over his recent comments which she deemed as sexual harassment.
According to a report YEN.com.gh sighted on Peacefmonline, Serwaa is demanding a public apology instead of the personal one the CEO of Consumer Rights Protection Agency, rendered.
Serwaa took to social media to call out Kofi Kapito over comments he made about the newscaster at the 2019 Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards last Saturday, October 12, 2019.
Kapito, while presenting an award, saw Serwaa seated in the audience and decided to comment on her now-famous backside.
Displeased by the unnecessary comment, Serwaa took to Twitter on Sunday, October 13, 2019, saying: "I had so much respect for Mr Kofi Kapito. This is a classic case of sexual harassment. I’m appalled by his utterances. This was needless and completely disrespectful!"
Later, YEN.com.gh gathered that Kapito had gone to apologise to Serwaa following her tweet which went viral the next day.
But according to the report sighted by YEN.com.gh, though Serwaa appreciated Kapito's attempt to apologise, she was only willing to accept his apology if it is done in public because he made his “disgraceful” comment in public but he refused and walked off.
Meanwhile, Kapito has confirmed his meeting with Serwaa explaining why he walked off.
“….I went ahead to complain to a management member of GH One Television who is Serwaa’s boss about her cold reception and the management member told me to forget about Serwaa if she is not satisfied with the personal apology….So that was why I left Serwaa’s office on Monday,” Kapito reportedly said.
