The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has said the average movement of prices of goods and services over a 12-month period measured as inflation declined to 7.6 percent.
The September inflation recorded a 0.2 percent decrease from the 7.8 percent recorded in August.
The announcement by the statistical agency means that within the last 12 months, the rate of increase in prices of good and services slowed to 7.6 percent, compared to the figure recorded last month.
In other news, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has indicated that if the NDC is voted back into power they will solve the infrastructure deficit in senior high schools.
He said the NDC would construct 100 senior high schools in its first 90 days in office.
Asiedu Nketiah emphatically stated that all the abandoned community day schools which the NDC started would be completed.
The chief scribe said the existing challenges confronting the smooth implementation of the free SHS is the double-track system and the placement system as well as funding of the policy.
He indicated the placement irregularities were as a result of the inadequate infrastructure.
