According to a statement signed by the Regional Manager, Overseas Division, T.K. Kim, claims that vehicle models GL6127HK and GDW6121HK cost $75,000 is false.
“We, Zyle Daewoo HQ state categorically that we sold the models GL6127HK and GDW6121HK to our Distributor GH DAEWOO MOTORS LTD in Ghana at cost of US$175,000 per unit,” portions of the statement read.
Chief Executive Officer of GH Daewoo, Ofori Poku says the allegations by Mr. Kevin Taylor can best pass as well-calculated mischief and must be downplayed.
He also urged the Ghanaian public to treat Kevin Taylor’s claims with the highest level of contempt, particularly regarding issues relating to a bus contract by the Ministry of Transport to purchase 50 Daewoo buses which he (Kevin Taylor) claimed was to be sold for $75,000 per unit.
The Daewoo company further explained in its communique that the prices displayed on Alibaba are just sample prices and lowest and standard prices in order to tempt the customer.
The company added that the prices of its products on Alibaba are based on only all Chinese components.

“There is another model such as GL6127 the price range $75,000-$135,000 on Alibaba. It really shows there will be differences by specification and price with option," the statement noted.
The minister said he will personally ensure contracts of individuals who pass negative comments about the NPP government and leader cancelled and reassigned.
