Komfo Anokye hospital performs unique heart surgery; open doors for more patients

- The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has performed a special heart surgery which did not require the opening of the heart

- Information available shows that this is the first time such a procedure has been performed in Ghana

- A KATH official, Georgina Afua Sam, advised all Ghanaians with such conditions to rush to the hospital for help

YEN.com.gh has learned that the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), located in the Ashanti region, has performed a distinct heart surgery.

Surgeons at KATH have revealed that until now, the procedure has never been performed in Ghana.

Information available shows that the procedure which is safe is one of the best that could be adopted.

The procedure has never been performed in Ghana before, citinewsroom.com.gh reports.

A KATH official, Georgina Afua Sam, disclosed that the surgery became possible because the hospital teamed up with Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital.

She explained that doctors from China often visit KATH to provide assistance with regard to surgeries.

Sam went to say that every Ghanaian who has such a condition should feel free to reach out to the hospital.

In other news, social media users have expressed surprise at the pricing strategy used by a restaurant located at East Legon in Accra.

Information gathered shows that Villandro sells a ball of kenkey with mackerel and one egg at GHc50.

In a post online, the restaurant indicated that its pepper is lethal and it’s not for the fainthearted.

It has however stirred controversy online as several social media users have reacted to the news
