83-year-old man who is Britain's oldest footballer searches for new club; lovely photos drop

Dickie Borthwick, a retired engineer, has stated he is fit to play 90 minutes and he is looking for a football club to sign him.

The 83-year-old is regarded as British oldest footballer as he was seen sharpening his skills in his garden.

He is currently unattached to a club after the veterans' team folded up but insists he is not giving up in getting more playing opportunities.

The soon to become 84-year-old has appeared in several charity matches yet he insists he does not want to play walking football

"I feel like I am capable of playing 90 minutes," he told Sport Bible.

"I will give 100%. I'm solid as a rock, well built, fearless and have a true love for the game.

"Every morning I go to the front door and take in 10 really deep breaths of fresh air. I also do it in the evening before I go to bed."

Borthwick made 1,600 appearances in a career spanning 72 years and counting.

He played for Ross County and Invergordon Town FC in the Scottish highlands before moving to Dorset.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh had earlier reported Willie Brown has died at the age of 78 as followers of the American football mourn the defensive-back.

Brown was fondly remembered for intercepting a 75-yard touch down against the Minnesota Viking in Super Bowl XI.
