YEN.com.gh has learned that the International Police (INTERPOL) will soon help a client of Safari Bet, Theophilus Morgan, retrieve his money from them.
Africa Gaming and Entertainment Ltd, who are the operators of Safari Bet, have closed down their operations in Ghana.
This comes after Morgan placed and won bets to the tune of GH¢ 57,603,306.20.
Information available shows that an Accra High Court has given a default judgment that enables INTERPOL to assist in the retrieval of the winnings.
Per a report adomonline.com, 220 multiple bets were placed between November 7 and 11, 2018.
They became the subject of a continuous dispute until the Gaming Commission of Ghana ruled that Morgan should be paid.
Despite this, Safari Bet refused to pay and subsequently closed down its activities in Ghana.
In other news, Information available shows that an estimated 41, 793 nurses and midwives are currently unemployed.
This was revealed by the Graduate Unemployed Nurses and Midwives Association (GUNMA). According to the association, they received a promise from the government with respect to jobs after school.
This followed the denial of allowances for continuing students but the promise is yet to be fulfilled. Per a report by Ghanaweb.com, the Association revealed that none of their members were employed in the year 2018.
Speaking at a press conference in parliament, GUNMA’s national president, Sugri Abdul-Rafiq, stated that the group is calling on the government to address their concerns
