Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has jumped to the defense of his one-time rival, Stonebwoy, after the latter pulled a gun on stage during the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in May this year.
Defending the ‘Ololo’ hitmaker, Shatta Wale stated in an interview on Peace FM and monitored by YEN.com.gh that the gun displayed by Stonebwoy at the event was a toy guy, popularly known as a ‘water pistol’.

The ‘Melissa’ hitmaker added that he never saw Stonebwoy with a gun during the VGMA scuffle.
“Stonebwoy loves water pistol. He is my cousin and when he was young, he used to play with water pistol so I am sure it was a water pistol and not a real gun,” he said.
Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have been at each other’s throats for years. This escalated during the 2019 VGMAs with both artistes causing a scuffle that nearly marred the event. In the process, Stonebwoy discharged a gun.
The two are currently in court to answer for their actions during the event. However, both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have come out publicly to call a truce.
