Details of the gruesome murder of the NPP Takoradi Constituency Treasurer, Mark Ofori, have been given.
As earlier reported by YEN.com.gh, Ofori was killed in his house at Fijai on the morning of Wednesday, October 30, 2019.
Narrating how it all happened, the NPP second vice-chairman of the constituency, Justice Acquah, said the murderer broke into the deceased room through his window.
He was speaking in an interview monitored by YEN.com.gh on Neat FM.
According to him, the murderer, with the help of a car jack, broke the burglar-proof of the deceased window in order to get access to the room.
Upon jumping in, Ofori’s wife was up and feeding their third child.
The deceased, he narrated, approached the killer in order to stop him from hurting the wife and the baby, however, he was shot twice leading to his sudden death.
At that time, the brother was also around, and so he also joined in to fight the assailant who pointed the gun at him.
Unfortunately, he had run out of bullets, therefore, he resorted to using a plank of wood to hit the head of the brother so he could run.
After falling unconsciously, the killer run away, leaving his gun behind.
Acquah revealed further that the gun is currently with the police as investigations are ongoing.
YEN.com.gh is keenly following up on this development and will update readers when fresh information comes in.
