The acting Deputy National Chief Imam, Sheikh Ishaka Abubakar, has reportedly passed away.
According to a report YEN.com.gh sighted on Myjoyonline.com Sheikh Ishak passed away on the dawn of Saturday, November 2, 2019,
The Office of the National Chief Imam is reported to have confirmed the news of Sheikh Ishak's passing.
The office further disclosed that the late sheikh will be buried after the Zuhr [afternoon prayers], in line with Islamic traditions.
A revered scholar, Sheikh Ishak became prominent for his teaching and leadership qualities. He is reported to have trained over 5000 Muslim youths on how to read and recite the Holy Quran.
The late Imam succeeded his elder brother Sheikh Ahmad Kamaludeen who died aged 103 in September this year.
Sheikh was named acting deputy Chief Imam a little under two months ago. He succeeded his elder brother Sheikh Ahmad Kamaludeen who passed away in September 20019 at the age of 103.
