Popular police officer, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, has denied ever been arrested for taking part in a coup plot.
According to Daily Guide reports, COP Kofi Boakye said he was invited by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), but he did not keep long there.
He stressed that he was not arrested as part of the coup plotters but was just there to have a chat with them and also explain things to them.
“ I went there at about 9 am and by 9.30 am I had left the place. I went there myself and explained things to them. It was not an arrest; it was a chat.It must be noted that I have absolutely nothing to do with coup plot directly or indirectly for the avoidance of doubt.”
COP Kofi Boakye further explained that after his Ayawaso speech at the New Year School, Dr Mac-Palme approached him and said he liked him.
“He told me about a political movement and would want me to be part but I told him that I was not interested. I referred him to Osofo Kyiri Abosom who has formed a political movement,” he added.
COP Kofi Boakye said it was a standard procedure that “when a person’s name is mentioned in a message as in robbery, coup or even terrorism that person should be invited.”
In other news, former president John Agyekum Kufuor, through is spokesperson Dr. Kwabena Osei Adubofour, has sent a stern warning to Rawlings.
Kufuor said Rawlings lacks integrity and should be the last person to talk when such an issue is being discussed.
He also called Rawlings a hypocrite who has no moral right or whatsoever to accused anyone of any crime.
