Information reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that former Executive Secretary of the IGP, Superintendent Peter Toobu Lanchene has been invited by the BNI for questioning over alleged involvement in coup plot.

According to Citi News sources within the Bureau for National Investigation (BNI) and National Security operations this brings to three the number of police officers invited over the alleged coup plot.
Supt. Toobu, who recently resigned from the police service to constest and eventually won the NDC parliamentary candidate for Wa West Constituency in the Upper West Region.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), ACP/Dr. Benjamin Agordzor, has been charged with abetment to commit treason over his alleged involvement in a coup plot.
Confirming the charge to Joy News, his legal representative, Martin Kpebu said his client was arrested and has been detained in BNI custody since 1 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019.
Martin Kpebu explained that his client was accused of communicating with the alleged coup plotters, who according to the government were plotting to destabilise the country through a coup lot.
Meanwhile, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye, has denied ever been arrested for taking part in a coup plot.
According to Daily Guide reports, COP Kofi Boakye said he was invited by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), but he did not keep long there.
He stressed that he was not arrested as part of the coup plotters but was just there to have a chat with them and also explain things to them.
