Kumasi Carnival: Stunning photos from the 2019 event pop up

Amid colourful costumes, masquerades on stilts, acrobats, puppets and other entertainers, the grand Kumasi Carnival came off on Saturday, November 2, 2019, in the Ashanti region.

The 2019 event was geared towards fostering unity between the Ghanaian community and the diaspora in this Year of Return 2019.

Having a panache of the Caribbean type of carnival, the Kumasi event also featured seminars, durbar of Chiefs and visit to notable tourist sites.

The 2019 Kumasi Carnival is part of the Year of Return activities for 2019 which marks 400 years of the first enslaved Africans arriving in Jamestown Virginia.

The Kumasi Carnival is organized by Mas Africa, a UK-based carnival events company with support from the National commission on Culture in partnership with the Ghana-Caribbean Chamber of Commerce.

Photos of the event which took place on Saturday, November 2, 2019, have been shared online.

In other news, enchanting photos of a beautiful Ghanaian police officer have generated remarkable commentaries after the images emerged online.

Social media user, Nana Oppong, shared the adorable photos in a Facebook group with a following of over 232, 000. Nana Oppong urged members of the group to celebrate her: ''Let’s celebrate our beautiful Officer,'' he captioned the photos.

The pictures of the pretty police officer who according to reports marked her birthday two weeks ago has gained massive traction on social media.
