- Ghanaian radio newscaster Afia Pokua has claimed that she joined Despite Group of Companies so her retirement bonus can increase

- In a video, she confirmed her move to Okay FM and UTV, denying reports that she was heading to Angel FM instead

Award-winning and celebrated radio newscaster, Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady has provided monetary reasons for her acceptance of the Despite deal.

According to the ace broadcaster, she joined the Despite Media so that her retirement bonus can be bigger.

In a video that was sighted by YEN.com.gh, Afia Pokua provided her main reason for joining Peace FM, Okay FM and UTV.

In a conversation with someone whose identity did not show in the video, Afia said: "This is the 'Kwakwe Last Stop' like I said if you are going on retirement, you have to join a winning team so your bonus can be big."

She further provided details of her new programs on Okay FM and UTV, informing listeners of the time and days.

"We are starting 'Gyaso Gyaso' this evening, the program is about politics, developmental issues," she noted.

Afia Pokua's exit from the Multimedia Group came as a surprise to Ghanaians as she has become a household name on its channels.

One may have thought that she will continue to be loyal, considering the exit of many of her colleagues over the period.

Deducing from Afia Pokua's emphasis on bigger retirement bonus in the video, it is evident that what her new company offered was bigger than what she was earning.

Meanwhile, she was reported to have said in an interview that she did not join Okay FM and UTV because of money.

Afia Pokua claimed that she left Adom FM to make way for the upcoming ones, thus her motivation was not money.
