Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has stated that the achievement of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in the education sector cannot be compared to what Nkrumah did.

According to him, the NPP's achievement is unprecedented in the history of Ghana.
Touting the achievements of the NPP, the Minister added that “what we have achieved in the educational sector is unprecedented in the annals of the history of this country. Not even Kwame Nkrumah achieved what we have done”.
Speaking to journalists after handing over an AstroTurf pitch to his constituents in the Manhyia South Constituency, Dr. Opoku Prempeh said the Free SHS policy continues to yield more positive results every day.
He said there has been a great improvement in the country’s educational sector under President Nana Akufo-Addo citing the Free SHS policy which he said has brought a big relief to children and parents from less-endowed backgrounds.
He went on to encourage Ghanaians to give the president the nod to continue with his good works to the benefit of Ghanaians.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo, has stated that using the money gotten from the country's oil find to fund the Free SHS programme is not a decision he regrets.
Addressing members of staff and students of Mawuli Senior High School, he said investing and developing the human capital of a country is what would help Ghana transition to be a better place for all.
