YEN.com.gh is in possession of a photo of Ghana’s first president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah standing before a statue of the 16th president of the United States of America (USA), Abraham Lincoln.
In the photo, Nkrumah is seen wearing a black suit over a white shirt and the statue of the former American president is constructed in a sitting posture.
Per a report by Ghana The Black Star of Africa, Nkrumah paid homage to Lincoln during a visit to the USA in July 1958.

Nkrumah, who led the Gold Coast to independence served as the country’s first president, from 1957 to 1966.
He was removed from office by the National Liberation Council (NLC) and he lived the rest of his life in Guinea, where he was named as honourary co-president.
In other news, YEN.com.gh has learned that a Nigerian student has built the country’s first locally manufactured drone when he was 17-year-old.
David Opateyibo, together with a team of students from the Lagos State Polytechnic, built the device and authorities are looking forward to deploying it for security surveillance.
Information available shows that the drone forms part of a project being pursued in line with the training curriculum at the polytechnic.
The aim is to develop a form of technology that will compete with the rest of the world, and in the process, empower young people and provide job opportunities.
Tests proved that Opateyibo’s drone is capable of flying 15 minutes in the air at a maximum altitude of 2000 feet.
