According to Forbes, there are 2,153 billionaires in the world and only 13 of them are black one per cent of the whole. Among the 13 black billionaires, only three are women!
Nigeria's Folorunsho Alakija is one of the black women who are billionaires; others are Oprah Winfrey and Isabel Dos Santos.
1. Oprah Winfrey(America) - $2.7 billion:
Oprah Winfrey tops the list with a net worth of $2.7 billion USD. The American media executive, actress, talk show host, television producer and philanthropist is the founder of Harpo Productions which produces the Oprah Winfrey Show, Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) and O Magazine.
2. Isabel Dos Santos (Angola) - $2.2 billion:
Angolan billionaire businesswoman Isabel Dos Santos is named Africa's richest woman. She is the eldest child of Angola's ex-president José Eduardo dos Santos. Her father ruled Angola between 1979 and 2017.
The 46-year-old Isabel has major stakes in numerous Angola and Portugual-based companies. She is said to worth $2.2 billion USD.
3. Folorunsho Alakija (Nigeria) - $1 billion:.
Nigerian billionaire businesswoman and fashion entrepreneur Folorunsho Alakija is the founder of The Rose of Sharon Prints & Promotions. She is also the executive vice-chairman of Famfa Oil Limited. Alakija is involved in the fashion, oil, real estate and printing industries. Her net worth is said to be $1 billion USD.
Meanwhile, business magnate Aliko Dangote with a net worth of $13.8 billion is named the world's richest black person.
