The lastest Ghanaian politician to make such a promise is actor and National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, John Dumelo.
John Dumelo has promised the youth in Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency that he will donate half of his first year salary and bonuses to the youth at Ayawaso West for development when he becomes a Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency.
Dumelo, in a tweet sighted by YEN.com.gh on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, assured the youth at Ayawaso West that he was serious about the promise he had made and he will ensure that he fulfils it when he wins the seat.
"That’s not a problem at all. That’s a very good suggestion. Here’s what I will do. I will donate 50% of my first year salary and bonuses as MP to the youth In Ayawaso West as development aid. I mean it," the actor tweeted.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, John Dumelo was seen pulling a 'borla truck' with a pile of rubbish in it.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West constituency, who is bent on winning the hearts of electorates in his constituency, has been pulling several publicity stunts to make him the preferred candidate for the upcoming 2020 election.
Since he won the NDC primaries in the Ayawaso Central constituency, he as embarked on several projects to ensure that he wins the seat for the NDC in 2020.
