Reigning WBO world light heavyweight champion, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has predicted the outcome should he meet Floyd Mayweather Jnr. in their rematch.
Per report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Dailystar.co.uk, Canelo said he will reign supreme over Mayweather should he get the chance to fight him again.
Canelo made this known following a superb TKO win over Sergey Kovalev to win WBO world light heavyweight strap.
“It’s different now,” he said. “I’m [a] different fighter.
“I think he’s good too but I’m a different fighter now. Maybe [it would be a] different fight.”
In 2013, Mayweather ended Canelo's unbeaten record as he won by majority decision.
Canelo is now a four-weight world champion after winning the WBO light heavyweight title.
The 29-year-old currently has 56 fights under his belt and has only been beaten once in his career and that was by the American.
In the bout, the much younger Alvarez was outclassed by Mayweather, whose drawing power forced the Mexican to move up to a catchweight of 152lbs for the bout.
A prime Mayweather schooled Canelo and walked away a dominant winner, despite one judge bizarrely scoring the fight 114-114.
Following that loss, Alvarez has established himself as one of the pound-for-pound best in the world, earning wins over the likes of Miguel Cotto, Gennady Golovkin and now Kovalev.
