Recently a man by name Awal Suleman, was in the news for doing something for the first time in the history of Ghana.

He was the most popular man on social media after he defied all odds and invaded the pitch during an AFCON qualification match between Ghana and South Africa on November 14 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

His guts and manner at which he evaded all the security personnel who chased him with some tumbling on the ground, is still trending and for some people, he really put the icing on the cake for them as the Black Stars beat South Africa by 2-0.

1. Awal is believed to be a 25-year-old Nursing student at the Nalerigu College of Nursing in the Northern Region.

2. He is believed to be a former student at Apam Snr High School at Apam in the central region where he was well known for his involvement in sporting activities.

3. He was one of the best 400m runners during his time in SHS.

This record of his is no doubt the skills he exhibited on the football field while the match was on-going. Gentleman should be signed up for the next Olympic games.

4. He’s the first fan to invade a pitch in Ghana.

In the history of Ghanaian football he is the first person to ever invade a pitch while a match was on-going. He could have been prosecuted for that if not for Ghanaians who advocated for his release
