During his tenure as president of the republic, he showed patriotism in many ways.

He is also known for his advocacy in the fight against corruption.

Tree Planting

The former president recently partnered Zoomlion and the Forestry Commission to plant trees in some parts of Accra.

This initiative happened as part of the June 4 commemoration anniversary.

Mr. Rawlings has also urged the public to do everything possible to protect the environment and he believes planting more trees is a step in the right direction.

Rawlings gifts car to MP

The former president has always also shown his love for humanity.

An example is when on August 2, 2019, he presented former Member of Parliament for Hohoe North, Patience Esi Pomary with a re-conditioned KIA Sorento sports utility vehicle at a short ceremony in his office at Ridge in Accra.

Directs traffic

Jerry Rawlings was on February 2019, spotted directing traffic on the Prampram stretch of the Accra-Aflao road.

The former president was forced to direct traffic because of the indiscipline of drivers on that stretch.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that some members of the NDC embarked on a nationwide weeding exercise on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

The exercise also took place in the far Northern and Bono Regions.
