Evander Holyfield warns Anthony Joshua to be wary of Andy Ruiz during Saudi rematch

Evander Holyfield warns Anthony Joshua to be wary of Andy Ruiz during Saudi rematch

Evander Holyfield, American boxing legend, has told Anthony Joshua to be wary of Andy Ruiz with less than a month to his epochal rematch with the Mexican boxing champion.

Joshua will have the golden chance of reclaiming his heavyweight belts again when he faces Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia on December 7.

Holyfield, who retired from boxing in 2008, has now thrown some words of caution to Joshua, saying the Briton needs to change his tactics or faces another defeat again, Talksport reports.

“Everyone is thinking it’s a fluke (that he beat Anthony Joshua the first time), but the guy showed he can get up from being knocked down. He got took down and got back up to win,” the 57-year-old said

“You look at Ruiz and he doesn’t look like he can fight at all. Nothing tells you he can fight, but he can fight.

“So, I know that persistently, he will fight that same fight that he fought last time. If he’s (Joshua) not ready to have someone in his face in the whole fight then it could end up the same way again," Evander Holyfield said.

Ruiz Jr took boxing world by storm when he floored Joshua through a seventh-round knockout to cart away the Briton's WBA, IBF & WBO belts in June 1, 2018, in New York.

The rematch of the fight will hold in Saudi Arabia and the Mexican has vowed to win the belts again while submitting that Joshua is worried and pressured.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh had reported that Deontay Wilder has told Andy Ruiz Jr to show more hunger for glory ahead of his much anticipated "fight of desert" rematch with Anthony Joshua.

The Mexican heavyweight champion has a huge task ahead of him when he meets the Nigerian-born pugilist to defend his belts.
