Former bread seller turned top photographer wins Youth Excellence Awards (photos)

- A former bread seller turned professional photographer has clinched an award for his works

Samuel Kumi, a former bread hawker turned professional photographer has become an inspiration to many following his recent admirable feat.

The young Ghanaian creative used to risk his life on major roads hawking A1 bread but took to photography as a new profession and has since made remarkable gains.

Samuel Kumi is the founder of Ace Photography and the personal photographer of Ghanaian top female musician Wendy Shay.

He’s also an official photographer at Ghana’s Parliament.

Kumi recently received recognition for his works as the Best Photographer Of The Year 2019 at the just-ended Young Entertainer Awards 2019.

Reacting to the award, Kumi took to his Instagram handle to express appreciation for the support.

''This My Second Time Winning Best Photographer Of The Year…at The Youth Excellence Awards….And I wanna use this opportunity to thank all humble souls who have been supportive since day one as I started this journey,” I remember how my friends were like oooooo He’s doing dz because of ladies ( But I was very Determined and I thank all souls behind mhe and the brand Ace Photography ).''

Meanwhile, at only 26, Jeffery Antwi Ansah, has already bagged a PhD in Computer and Information Science from the University of South Australia (UniSA).

Prior to completing his course, Ansah’s dissertation research focused on developing artificial intelligence and Machine Learning methods for predicting social disruptive events such as riots, protests, civil unrest among others, using social media data.
