Embattled University of Ghana lecturers, Professor Ransford Gyampo and Dr. Paul Butakor have not been exonerated of allegations of sexual harassment and abuse of their position and offices.

The University of Ghana on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 announced via a statement signed by the director of public affairs of the institution, Stella Amoa, that the two lecturers were found guilty of misconduct by the fact-finding committee that investigated the Sex for Grades allegations.
The Committee in it’s report to the University of Ghana Vice Chancellor, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu, recommended that the two lectures accused appear before the university’s disciplinary committee for further action.
The Committee, chaired by Justice Vida Akoto-Bamfo opined that Prof. Gyampo and Dr. Butakor breached the university’s code of conduct and statutes.
So based on the statement released by the University of Ghana and copied to YEN.com.gh, it is not true the two lecturers have been exonerated on the claims of sexual harassment and sex for grade allegations made against then in the BBC documentary.
Meanwhile, the University of Ghana in its statement noted that, the VC will apply the recommendations in Committee’s report to conclusion.
According to the paramount chief of the Akyem Abuakwa area, it is only when government is able to spread the ministries evenly across the 16 regions that Ghana will develop properly and also boost development.
