The visit saw the National Chairman of the NDC Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin joining Mahama to welcome the Asantehene.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu was in Accra to deliver a lecture at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) on Friday, November 2, 2019.
According to Mahama, he and Otumfuo discussed national issues and he used the opportunity to tap into the Asnahene's counsel.
"It was an opportunity to once again discuss with the Asantehene a number of critical national development issues, and also tap into his wise counsel. Otumfuo Asantehene and I have always had a relationship underlined by mutual respect and brotherliness, and it was indeed a great honour to welcome him and his delegation," Mahama captioned photos of the visit he shared on social media.
The visit comes weeks after Otumfuo Osei Tutu disclosed in a speech at the United Nations that it took the intervention of the Manhyia Palace for the loser in the last election to concede defeat and keep the peace.
The comment drew a response from Mahama's Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah and stirred lots of debate in the media.
Meanwhile, the Asantehene visited former President John Agyekum Kufuor at his residence in Aburi on Saturday.
As earlier reported by YEN.com.gh, photos showed Sam Jonah, Ibrahim Mahama and others with Otumfuo and Kufuor in the house.
