The youth are all members of the group, Elephant Youth Association also known as Osono and recognized by the party.
According to the group, the chief of staff is holding on to their monies and has also prevented them from receiving financial support from President Akufo-Addo.
“Mr Assenso is owing us and we are here for our money. We hear the government has given the money to him to give to us but he’s lying to us that he has paid the money to Mr Osono, but Mr Osono says he hasn’t received any money, so, we are demonstrating to collect our money,” one of the angry youth who spoke to Accra-based Class FM said.
It took the intervention of the NPP’s national youth organizer, Nana Boakye, to calm the irate youth down and get them to leave the premises of the deputy chief of staff.
Nana B. promised the group he will ensure the matter is resolved and monies will be paid to the Elephant Youth Association.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that heavy downpour has destroyed properties in the Somanya township on Monday, November 25.
The rainstorm also destroyed cash at the Barclays Bank branch in the area.
